BIG EYE
A customized milling to better support the mandrel details. It applies to any type of critical mandrel support, from screw channels to rectangular shelves. Big Eye can be applied to the hood sections instead of the Amvico cut when the need for free milling is required by the client.

CATERPILLAR
Solution to eliminate the central power supplies; the internal parts of the mandrels are not connected by spokes, they’re independent. The result is a more uniform formation across the entire section of the profile, a reduced outlet temperature and therefore a superior micro structure.

CORONA
Corona is a double mandrel construction to allow better feeding of aluminium inside the small cores. The improved welding seam integrity and reduced outlet temperature are the main advantages. Corona is synonymous with higher productivity especially in the case of AA6082, typically subject to tearing.

DOG BONE
It reduces the incidence of cracks on the edges of the dies. The greatest stress on the edges of the dies is usually found on small radii and the tip of the fins where the tension stress is given by the bending of the tool. With the Dog Bone technology we apply a compressive force that reduces stress where necessary, increasing the life of the die.

FANTINO
Our solution for the integrity of the welding seam and the minimum frontal defect extension. The bridges of the cores are drilled with the intention of better feeding the undercut. Fantino is the best solution when it’s applied in the profile with a low extrusion ratio.

INVERSE PYRAMID
It reduces the die volume and it increases recovery without affecting extrusion speed. The Inverse Pyramid Technology can be applied to pipes and profiles with a single core.

NO DEAD ZONES
It removes everything that is not needed from the sections.Thanks to the finite element analysis, Alumat is able to shape the entrances, the chambers and the welding chambers of the dead zones. Superior anodized quality and reduced die volume are among the main advantages of this solution. The best applications are profiles for curtain walls and structural profiles that require the elimination of the front-end defect.
For AA6082, AA6005, AA6063 alloys and alloys with magnesium.

PANTHEON
Ancient geometries applied to design. The principle of the beam is applied to the mandrel while the enlarger acts as a stress absorber. This unique concept was developed for 7000 series aluminium alloy extrusion.

SHRINKING RING
It reduces the diameter and increases the life of the die in a single solution. The edges of the dies are subjected to strong stress and can exceed the limit of plasticity. Using the principle of thermal shrinkage, we apply a ring to the section of the die in order to reduce its bending under load and, consequently, the stress peak. Thanks to the Shrinking Ring technology, the dies are more stable and their service life can even double. Last but not least, by using a keyed ring it’s possible to reduce the required diameter of the die and / or give full guarantee to a die that would normally crack under load.

SINGLE BRIDGE
The simplest solution that works best. Single Bridge is probably the most common design for architectural profiles. The advantages are related not only to a better surface quality, but also to a reduced penetration force and a lower profile outlet temperature. The stability of the mandrel is reduced but thanks to FEA it’s not a problem if you choose Alumat.
for soft and hard alloys.

STRAITJACKET
The Shrinking technology applied to mandrels. The radial force applied by the Straitjacket compresses the bridges thus reducing the tension stress on the fall when the mandrel is under load. It’s best application are the porthole dies subject to a limited life due to sudden breakage of the mandrel section.
for 7000-series aluminium alloys.

TORPEDO
We applied the ideal arc profile of a torpedo to our pouches and feeders to create a solid die with no dead metal areas. Torpedo technology applies in particular to bus bars which offer the best micro structure.
